Who runs this survey

Garden State Opinion Research runs this voluntary survey of Ewing Township residents. It is an opt-in community questionnaire. It is not a scientific random sample, and it is not affiliated with Ewing Township or any candidate or campaign.

What a response includes

• Your chosen answers.
• The election district for the address you enter.
• The time you finish and how many seconds the survey was open.
• A random response id.
• A random browser id, so this browser can submit once.
• A short source label when the survey link includes a source tag.
• The survey does not ask for your name, email address, phone number, or Facebook profile.

Street address and ZIP

The street and ZIP are used to check that the home is in Ewing Township and to record the election district. They are sent from the survey page to the survey operator's Google web app. That web app asks New Jersey's public polling-place lookup and returns the district.

The street and ZIP are not written into the response row. Google can still keep the lookup in the private execution log for that web app. The saved row includes the election district.

The browser id

The survey page stores one random id in this browser's local storage and in a first-party cookie. The cookie is named gsor_ewing_device. A second cookie, gsor_ewing_done, records that this browser already submitted.

These cookies are not advertising or analytics cookies. Clearing this browser's stored data, or using another browser, creates a new id. Opening this privacy page does not set them.

Where responses are kept

Finished responses are added as rows in a private Google Sheet controlled by the survey operator. The sheet is not published. Combined results may be reported for the people who took part. Groups small enough to point to one person are left out of public results.

Responses are not sold.

How long rows are kept

Rows stay in the private sheet while they are needed to review and describe this pilot. You can ask to have a row deleted. The row has no name, so the operator can match it only when the browser still has its id, or from details you can provide such as the approximate time of submission.

Adults

This survey is meant for Ewing residents age 18 or older. It does not ask for a birth date. A response identified as coming from a child will be deleted.
